Dany, Mark, Anurag and Gerry: All 4 are enthusiastic DJs and producers of electronic music. They live in different cities, hundreds or even thousands of kilometers away, and yet they have one thing in common: electronic music.
All 4 love electronic music, enjoy producing their own songs and love presenting their own skills to an audience. Everyone dreams of playing on big stages and having parties with the whole world.
"My personal message is to convey love, peace, freedom and mutual respect to people through my music. If the whole world is happy and content, then there will be less wars, violence, crime and also less terror. But not only that! In "First and foremost, I love music and live it. That's just me," says Gerry.
In 2008, Dany and Gerry met through the MySpace platform and started chatting about music. Both became friends and in 2010 they met in person for the first time. Since then, the two have made music together and produced their own songs, which they initially released on other music labels. In 2012 they both joined the German label B12 Records, where they met Mark.
All 3 got along well with each other. In 2012, Mark and Gerry discovered that they had musical similarities and also presented them on the turntables. The Ushuaia Boys project was born. Since then, Mark and Gerry have been releasing their joint productions under this name.
But 2012 was also the year where B12 Records was closed. And so a new music label had to be found.
On January 14, 2013 the time had come. Digital Room Records was founded. "At first we had no background knowledge of how we as a label could best help our artists. Then we realized that many labels had developed their own concept and released certain genres of music. That's exactly what we did. I learned more and more "Even today I'm still learning new things," admits Gerry. "We're always developing further and further. Not just in a musical way, but also in a personal way," says Gerry.
Since then, Dany, Mark and Gerry have released their music on their own music label.
In 2014 the three of them met Anurag. He was extremely committed to the label. Since then, Anurag and the three of them have been looking after the artists of Digital Room Records.
2015 Digital Room Radio was found and since that: People could listen to the music and DJ-Sets from their artists.
In recent years the music has continued to develop steadily. The strategy of Digital Room Records also developed further and further.
In 2017, Gerry met DJ Konasir, who was hosting radio shows for Barbara Sobel.
In 2018, Gerry also met Barbara Sobel, who gave the label and also Gerry new knowledge. Gerry immediately used this knowledge and their music label developed further and reached more and more people. Gerry also got the chance to produce remixes for well-known artists such as KC & The Sunshine Band, Tony Moran, Nile Rodgers, Rozalla, Amber Dirks, Phoebe Austin and many more. And he did this together with Mark Feesh as Ushuaia Boys.
2019 was the year when their long-time friend and colleague DJ Daniel Wilson started producing their own songs together with Gerry and released them on Digital Room Records. This was the beginning of the entry into international charts such as Traxsource, Beatport and iTunes, without having previously invested a large budget in advertising.
"The years 2020 and 2021 changed the entire music industry worldwide due to the Corona pandemic. Live streams became more and more popular and we also began to present our DJ skills and our productions to a new and ever-growing audience," says Gerry. "As a result, the music industry became increasingly creative in order to survive. We as artists and music labels were given more and more tools and opportunities to expand our fan base and to provide our fans with news and our music. Daniel and I were suddenly able to do everything "We were able to boost our sales without any prior effort and we were also able to generate more streams on Spotify. Our number 1 hits got us in the newspaper and on the radio. It was a kind of chain reaction in a positive sense," says Gerry.
After all: sooner or later you will be rewarded for hard work. No matter what you do. Only one thing is important: that you want to do it from the heart. And above all, that you have fun with it.
